42km away from Purulia via Sirkabad, Ajodhya is a famous tourist destination. It is a woody mountain with tableland on top. Many small streams make their way through the slopes of the hill to meet Subarnarekha on the west and Kangsabati and Kumari from the northern slope. How To Travel:- If you have your Private car then use it or You can hire a rental car if your budget allows you. But I'm considering you as a member of a lower middle class who lives in Kolkata or near Kolkata just like me; So for us Govt. Of India provides Railway Service. You need to arrive at Howrah first. From Howrah to Purulia there are 9 trains run on this route. The fastest among them is RUPASIBANGLA EXPRESS(12884) and if you want to book tickets for this train then you need to apply for that 90 days before your journey. And the slowest train is CKP(Chakradharpur) HWH PAS(58012). The journey would entail passing through the cities of Kharagpur, Barabhum, Jhargram, Jamshedpur, Ghatsila, Chandil, and Chakulia. If you live in these places then you can book your ticket from these stations and start your journey from these stations also, you don't need to arrive at Howrah or Kolkata. A total of 5 trains run directly between Howrah Jn and Purulia Jn which include Lalmati Express, HWH RNC INT EXP, HWH PRR EXP, Samarsata EXP, and HWH CKP PAS. Almost all the trains between Kolkata and Purulia pass through Kharagpur Jn, Bankura, and Tatanagar Jn stations. Rupasibangla EXP is the earliest train for this route leaving at 06:25 am while the last train is HWH CKP PAS that departs at 23:05 from Howrah Station. If you live outside West Bengal then I will prescribe you to land first at Kolkata Airport by Plane and then catch the train from the Howrah Station.
It takes 5 hours 30 mins to 6 hours to reach Purulia from Howrah by Train Service. And being a Lower Middle-Class Indian I love the Railway journey. It's our lifeline. it adds that X-factor to the journey which we need most. 3 to 4 Days Travel plan is the best.

Best Time to Visit:- Summers are hot and dry with temperatures ranging from lows of 23 °C to highs above 48 °C. Winters are dry and cool with daily temperatures ranging from 5 °C to 20 °C. Most of the rainfall occurs during the wet monsoons (Mid June to August end). So, the Best time to visit this place is from Mid September to the 1st week of March till the Holi Festival. Bengali People mostly travel there during the Durga puja Festive season.

Food Cost:- There are many restaurants but "Thek Restaurant" is famous. The Address of this Restaurant is Nilkuthi Danga, through, SC Sen Rd, junction road, Purulia, West Bengal 723101. It cost Rs.100/- to Rs.200/- for two people. Here, the food is good and recommended by almost everyone who visited there. You can get both Veg and Non-Veg dishes here. It closes at 10:30 pm.
